Two teams from the ANU School of Philosophy competed at the International Ethics Olympiad, taking home the Gold and Bronze medals. This is an excellent result in a competition that brings together the best teams from Australasia and the USA.

The Ethics Olympiad is a debate-style competition, where teams are scored for collaborative discussion of issues in applied ethics. Teams apply their philosophical expertise to questions about complex issues like the billionaire space-race, animal testing, and gender politics. The students demonstrated a deep understanding of complex moral questions and a careful ear for the arguments presented by opposing teams.
